Reportingexamples include, but are not limited to: variance reports, status reports, cost and schedule reports, trend analysis report, forecasting reports and PARS reports (all reports are subject to the Technical Lead’s approval). + Contributes to reports developed for scheduled project reviews as required.

  • Assists with creating training materials and holding training sessions for ANL VTR project team members.
  • Generates and assists the Technical Lead with progress and presentations pertaining to the project schedules, resources and earned value performance and trend analysis as required.
  • Interfaces with the project’s technical and project support staff regarding cost and schedule matters related to estimates, variance analysis and reports.
  • Participates in establishing and maintaining the project’s change control process. The major aspects of participation include, updating and maintaining the change control log, overseeing and approving workflow through the change control process, validating the outputs from the change control process, documenting revisions and approved changes to the project baseline, and communicating progress and issues of change requests to the Technical Lead.
  • Manages the ANL P6 databases as the systems custodian (P6 and Cobra). Implements and maintains configuration management with respect to the VTR INL project. This includes maintaining and updating the P6 and Cobra databases and performing quality and integrity checks on the databases.
  • Creates required processes and procedures for the ANL VTR EVMS team to ensure compliance and consistency with INL requirements.
  • Provide backup support to Technical Lead, where needed, during the monthly business cycle, including project change requests (PCRs) as needed.
  • Verifies actuals data provided by the OPM database administrator and the data provided by the VTR ANL and INL financial managers. Resolves any discrepancies identified during the verification process.

The CAM/Project Controls Lead is directly responsible for developing, executing, controlling, and maintaining the ANL Versatile Test Reactor (VTR) project cost and schedule per Idaho National Laboratory (INL) EVMS Guidelines, which in turn are designed to meet the requirements for DOE Capital Acquisition projects under DOE O.413.3B. Responsibilities for this position include, but is not limited to, creating processes and procedures that warrant consistency with INL, ensuring the project controls outputs adheres to those processes and procedures by performing quality and compliance checks. The CAM/Project Controls Lead validates the accuracy and integrity of the ANL data with the Control Account Technical Lead. All responsibilities are performed in conjunction with the Technical Lead.

Summary responsibilities of the CAM/Project Controls Lead include:

  • Assists the Technical Lead in identifying the root cause of project cost and schedule variances issues in a proactive manner.

  • Oversees the preparation of Earned Value monthly performance.Reportingexamples include, but are not limited to: variance reports, status reports, cost and schedule reports, trend analysis report, forecasting reports and PARS reports (all reports are subject to the Technical Lead’s approval).

  • Knowledge and experience in interpretation and application of project management theories, principles, and computerized performance measurement systems for scope, schedule, cost, and risk.

  • Experience in large scale capital acquisition projects.
  • Working knowledge of U.S. DOE order 413.3B: Program and Project Management for the Acquisition of Capital Assets is highly desirable.
  • Experience establishing project scopes, project specifications, schedules, cost estimates, and managing operational efforts
  • Ability to think analytically and have strong attention to detail
  • Knowledge of how to apply organizational effectiveness strategies and process improvement methodologies.
  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills with a wide range of constituencies and the ability to translate content to suit the targeted audience.
  • Interpersonal relations skills including the ability to interact effectively with a broad spectrum of internal and external contacts including ad-hoc; cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to work on multiple concurrent projects and to achieve desired goals on schedule and within budget.
  • Significant experience with Primaveras P6 and Deltek Cobra software.
  • Skilled in utilizing Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft project.
  • Knowledge and understanding of business administration and financial principles.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certified preferred

This level of knowledge is typically achieved through a formal education in business, organizationaldevelopment/behavior,or an associated field at the Bachelor’s level and 6+ years of relevant experience.
