This is an exciting opportunity to work on state-of-the-art C++ frameworks for parallel execution, Kokkos and RAJA, serving an ever-expanding high-performance-computing (HPC) user community. As we head toward exascale, these frameworks must be prepared for upcoming supercomputing architectures at Argonne's Leadership Computing Facility (ALCF) and other facilities nationwide. In addition, our suite of proxy applications using these frameworks need to be expanded to provide good examples to new users and our vendors alike. A passion for C++ and programming advanced computing architectures, and a desire to contribute to the C++ standardization process, will be rewarded in this position.

Ideal candidates are expected to have:

  • Significant experience with C++; experience with the C++ standardization process is desirable.
  • Advanced knowledge of the language semantics of C++; knowledge of C and Fortran is desirable.
  • Experience with parallel programming; experience with the OpenMP programming model is desirable.
  • Experience with high-performance computing; experience with scientific code development is desirable.
  • Experience with code optimization and the use of profiling and performance-monitoring tools and techniques.
  • Experience with Linux environments and Python.
  • Good software debugging skills.

In addition, candidates should show:

  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills to contribute to creative solutions to complex problems.
  • Good communications skills, both verbal and written.
  • Good collaborative skills, including the ability to work well with other labs, universities, computing centers, and industry.
