The Nanoscience and Technology Division/Center for Nanoscale Materials (CNM) at Argonne National Laboratory has an available postdoctoral position in the Electron & X-ray Microscopy (EXM) Group. The position is funded for one year and renewable for up to two years (subject to available funding and performance evaluation).
The prospective researcher will carry out research in investigating the relationship between performance and microstructure of solid electrolyte and energy storage materials by advanced in-situ electron microscopy and synchrotron x-ray techniques. The selected candidate will collaborate with a group of scientists and postdoctoral researchers at CNM and CSE to develop the applicable and reliable materials for the new type of energy storage devices.
A strong experimental background in material science and chemistry in structure characterization by in-situ electron beam and synchrotron x-ray is strongly preferred. Hands-on experiences in characterization technique development is highly preferred. Additional expertise nanofabrication, and instrumentation is beneficial. Good programming, data analysis and communication skills are a plus.
A Ph.D. degree in physics, engineering, or any other related areas obtained within the last three years or to be finished soon is required.
