The Molecular Materials Group in the Materials Science Division of Argonne National Laboratory solicits applicants to fill a postdoc position in the area of computational chemistry. The principal focus of this position centers on modeling structure and chemistry of battery electrolyte materials.

Considerable demonstrated experience in performing atomistic modeling simulations for liquid or soft materials is highly desirable. Specific research experience with battery electrolyte systems is strongly preferred. The successful candidate will join a large diverse multidisciplinary team with background in electrochemistry, physics, materials and chemistry.

We expect you to have:

  • Ph.D. inchemistry/materials/physicsor a related discipline.
  • Essential skills required for this is position are substantial experience in molecular dynamics simulations, with some experience with quantum mechanical codes (e.g. VASP, Gaussian) and scientific programing.
  • A track record of peer-reviewed publications on computational and theoretical research.
  • Good oral and written communication skills are also desired.
  • Teamwork skills are essential.

To be eligible, candidates must have completed their Ph.D. within the last three years
