Argonne National Laboratory Postdoctoral Appointee - Membrane Science in United States
The Postdoctoral Researcher focused on the fabrication and characterization of membranes derived from layered materials. The successful candidate will work on cutting-edge projects that involve both structural and chemical characterization to assess ion and molecule permeability. This role will also encompass aspects of high-throughput and automated (robotic) characterization methods.
Key Responsibilities:
Fabricate membranes from various layered materials. Conduct structural and chemical characterization of membranes to evaluate their properties. Utilize and develop high-throughput and automated (robotic) characterization systems.
Analyze and interpret data, maintaining accurate records of research findings. Prepare and present research results in scientific meetings, conferences, and peer-reviewed journals. Assist in mentoring graduate and undergraduate students in related research projects.
Position Requirements
PhD in chemistry, materials science, chemical engineering, or a related field with 0 to 5 years of experience or equivalent
Basic chemistry laboratory experience
Demonstrated experience in membrane fabrication and characterization
Proficiency in structural and chemical characterization techniques such as SEM, TEM, XRD, XPS, and FTIR
Data analysis
Strong oral and written communication
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative research team
